Busy but Grateful

I am really grateful than in the past few days, I have been receiving a lot of opportunities with regards to my work online. For starters, I have received quite a number of offers to write various articles. It has actually been taking most of my time these days and I’m hoping that more projects will come my way. We are saving for our children’s tuition fees and whatever payment I receive from my tasks online would go a long way.

I also plan to put up another blog that will be about arts/crafts/hobbies. My husband has a huge stamp and coin collection and I’m hoping to showcase them on an arts/crafts blog. I am also keen on pursuing a new hobby — Postcard Collecting/Swapping. Receiving postcards from various parts of the world sounds exciting (aside from the fact that it is also a great way to meet new friends).

Speaking of blessings, the first book that I’ve requested from BookSneeze arrived this morning. It took longer than I expected but nonetheless, a book in exchange for a review sounds good to me. Besides, a free book is a free book, right ? I’m looking forward to reading it this week. Hopefully, I’d get to post my review of the book within the coming days.

Today’s Wake Up Call

Ever since summer vacation started for the kids, we seem to always end up sleeping late. Like last night, the kids are busy playing with their trading cards , hubby was watching reruns of The Pacific on HBO, while I’m busy with online work. I was actually the last one to go to bed because I was waiting for an email. I thought that since we plan to open our store late today, we wouldn’t need to set the alarm and we can wake up late.
That didn’t happen though because we were awaken by our dog’s incessant barking. I looked at our wall clock thinking that we have overslept but was surprised when it says 4a.m. It definitely wasn’t four in the morning because the sun was definitely up and it’s already hot outside. It seems we didn’t notice that we haven’t changed our clock’s battery for quite sometime now and that we were so sleepy that we didn’t notice that it wasn’t working anymore. I told my husband this morning as he was changing the battery that maybe we need to change our wall clock not just the battery since we’ve had that clock for a few years now. I told him that maybe we can buy a decorative wall clock; something similar to what we saw online. Seeing my husband look at me like I’ve gone crazy, I quickly told him that I was just kidding…lol. Well, it’s not a bad idea, right ? I mean, at some point we do have to change that clock, maybe not today but hopefully soon.*wink*
Anyway, I don’t plan to oversleep again anytime soon because the headache that goes along with it is not worth it.

Adapting a New Schedule

Now that the kids are on summer vacation, I have to make some adjustments on when I can do my chores and my online work. Even if the kids don’t have to wake up early for their classes, I’d still have to get up early because I need to open our store and to prepare breakfast before they wake up. I would usually start my online work when the kids are already in school and after doing some household chores. But now, I may have to wake up earlier than usual and work online for an hour or two before they wake up because they also want to use the computer and they’d most likely ‘evict’ me if they see me in front of the computer…lol. I guess it’s probably the biggest downside of having the kids at home most of the day; they get bored easily and they want to just play video games and computer games all day.

Good thing that our children are easy to talk to. As long as you explain to them why you’re implementing a certain rule they’d gladly follow. They know that they are not allowed to use the computer without our permission and that they are only allowed to use it for a certain period of time each day.

I guess I have to finish making our new ‘schedule’, especially when it comes to who will use the computer next. That way, the kids can play their computer games and I’d get to work online as well. Good luck to us.
